We are happy to announce, that keynote lectures of this conference will be given by Professor Daniel Miller from University College London and professor Ingun Grimstad Klepp from Oslo Metropolitan University. The topics of their presentations will be published shortly.
Professor Daniel Miller

Daniel Miller is professor of anthropology at University College London. His work is mainly associated with the development of two branches of anthropology. Firstly the study of material culture including books such as Material Culture and Mass Consumption, Materiality, The Comfort of Things and Stuff. More recently he has developed the study of digital anthropology. His latest book The Good Enough Life published with Polity Press is an attempt to reset the relationship between anthropology and philosophy through contrasting an ethnography of a small town in Ireland with philosophical writing about what life should be. In 2012-7 he ran the Why We Post project which was responsible for a book series with UCL Press that in July 2020 passed one million downloads. From 2017-2021 he ran the ASSA (Anthropology of smartphones and smart ageing) project that is currently being published. He also recently created a game (Trinifoodquiz for downloading on smartphones), with Sheba Mohammid. This is intended to help people in Trinidad learn about the relationship between diet and hypertension.
