The organizing committee for the annual symposium of computer science in Finland is inviting doctoral students, post-docs and researchers in computer science, software engineering, data sciences, information systems, information technology, and other related fields to participate in the annual symposium of the computer science society of Finland. This year the symposium will take place on 2nd and 3rd of June, in Helsinki, Finland. During the event, there will be keynote speakers, presentations by the awarded researchers, and paper and poster sessions, for which we are looking for submissions.
The theme of this years symposium is ethical considerations in computer and data science. However, the papers submitted to this conference are not limited to the theme of the symposium. We invite papers for presentations and publication from all of the researchers in the field of computer science, information systems and its related fields, to present their work at the symposium. We encourage to submit new openings, ongoing research, and interesting concepts of computer science, software engineering, information technology, information systems, and data science, in both research and educational contexts. We hope that the presentations are well-thought, insightful and universal enough to allow our audiences to participate and actively discuss them with the presenters at the separate paper track sessions.
We especially encourage the early-stage doctoral students to write about their studies, to find contacts and social connections inside the Finnish and Nordic academia.
The submitted papers should be formatted as 5 to 12-page papers following the CEUR-WS 2-paragraph template (https://ceur-ws.org/Vol-XXX/CEURART.zip) and written in English. Overleaf template and further instructions at the CEUR-WS website: https://ceur-ws.org/HOWTOSUBMIT.html. Only the papers presented on-site at the symposium event will be included in the proceedings volume. Please observe that papers which are less than 10 pages will be considered ‘short papers’, 10 to 12 pages ‘full papers’.
The accepted papers are presented at the symposium event, where each paper is given 15 minutes for presentation, and 5 minutes for Q&A with the audience. Only presented papers will be included in the proceedings, so for all papers there has to be at least one author participating in the event on site. The presentation may be given in English or in Finnish, and may also include other aspects such as hardware demonstrations, audiovisual materials, etc.
Papers which do not qualify for proceedings may be invited as 2-page poster papers if the organizing committee decides so. However, if you are interested in submitting poster paper only, you can also submit a paper that is at maximum 2 pages in length.
In order to have the submission accepted, at least one author is required to join to PC, and will be required to provide at most two peer reviews.
The manuscripts should be submitted to EasyChair (link below) latest by 07.04.2025 (April 7th) 08:00 (Finland time).
The accepted presentations will be communicated to the presenters latest by 06.05.2025 (May 6th) 16:00 (Finland time).
