Conferences at the University of Helsinki

The University of Helsinki is an active organiser of national and international conferences. It arranges about 100 academic conferences per year, bringing together close to 10,000 top experts in their fields.

Scholarly work requires both national and international research collaboration. Conferences serve as an important forum for such collaboration, enabling researchers to exchange knowledge, share results, network with peers and discuss ideas. The world-class research conducted within the various disciplines and extensive networks of the University of Helsinki provide an excellent basis for hosting conferences.

Most conferences are organised in the University’s own facilities on the City Centre Campus or one of its three other campuses. Alternatively, conferences may be held in venues outside the University – in either the Helsinki Metropolitan Area or, for a special winter experience, a destination such as the remote Fell Lapland.
