Supporting research is a central priority area for the School. There are many different ways to support research work. The rector also awards grants to research networks. Individual researchers can receive support for research periods, participation in conferences or visits, or preparation for new research projects. The School employs doctoral students, research assistants and postdoctoral researchers for fixed-term and limited research projects which support the School's research profile.
Doctoral students at the Swedish School of Social Science
Doctoral education is provided in the doctoral programmes under the University’s doctoral schools and in independent institutes. The professors at the Swedish School of Social Science supervise doctoral education together with the departments of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Doctoral education is primarily provided in English. Doctoral students participate in research projects led by senior researchers at the Swedish School of Social Science. The School also employs doctoral students (for competitive, fixed-term contracts) in projects which support its research profile. There are currently ten doctoral students affiliated with the Swedish School of Social Science.
