Contribute to a sustainable society
What happens when society changes? How do we meet new challenges for collaboration and well-being? We educate experts who understand people and society in order to affect development.
We educate experts who understand the development of society and can contribute to a democratic, fair and sustainable future society.
Our research profile combines topics such as Nordic welfare, ethnic relations and communication with innovative, multidisciplinary approaches. The research profile responds to new challenges of the Nordic welfare model.
The Swedish School of Social Science is today the largest Swedish unit at the bilingual University of Helsinki, and is one of the units for higher education in the language of Swedish in Finland.
The School closely cooperates with other universities and institutions of higher education in Finland and the Nordic countries. We have an active alumni organisation, which strengthens the bond between the School and the world of work.
