Research collaboration between Finland and France

Kristiina Mäkinen received funding from the Programme Maupertuis - Researchers Short Mobility program and the ViPS visiting scholars program to visit several INRA centres (French National Institute for Agricultural Research) to discuss collaborative research and education possibilities.

The Programme Maupertuis is a new funding tool to initiate and strengthen scientific collaboration between France and Finland. The Institut Français in Helsinki, the Embassy of France in Finland, the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the Finnish Society for Sciences and Letters and the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters are the partners jointly supporting activities.

Kristiina visited the INRA centres at Bordeaux, Avignon and Montpellier presenting her research work, research topics of ViPS using the ViPS videos and teaching on a master's level course.

Discussion covered topics such as student mobility and exchange, bilateral PhD candidates, educational cooperation and teacher exchange as well as collaborative research.
