There is fifth PhD defense from the PREP lab approaching, as M.Sc. Tony Eteläinen will defend his thesis on Friday 14.4.2023. Tony’s thesis topic is “The effect of prolyl oligopeptidase inhibition on protein aggregation and oxidative stress in the models of neurodegenerative diseases”, and in his thesis Tony has studied the role of PREP on oxidative stress in cells and in vivo, and tested the effect of PREP inhibition on alpha-synuclein and Tau-based animal models of neurodegenerative diseases.
