Nice collaborative paper published!

Our collaboration with Prof. Daniel Batlle from Northwestern University produced a very nice publication on Hypertension.

In this paper, Prof. Batlle's group showed that PREP is required to release tissue-protective angiotensin fragment (Ang1-7) from angiotensin in renin-angiotensin system that is important for blood pressure, and body fluid and electrolyte balance. Interestingly, the research showed out that PREP is important for Ang1-7 release in lungs, where PREP has been earlier connected to inflammation and e.g. COPD. This study highlights the multitasking role for PREP and shows that there is still lot to find in PREP.
