The Finnish Research Impact Foundation awarded Prof. Strachan Tandem Industry Academia Professorship funding for 12-months of research based at Orion Pharma. Orion Pharma will host her each spring (February to May) in the years 2022 to 2024. During this time she aims to gain new insights into important surface structures of drug particles and dosage forms. She will do this by employing cutting-edge imaging methods available in academia in new ways. The research should ultimately improve pharmaceutical quality and patient safety. Longer term, the aim is to enhance pharmaceutical research and teaching collaboration between academia and industry.
