Andrés Cardenas (PhD) of Amphos21 (Spain) has been staying with us here at the RIP-team of the radiochemistry laboratory to help us set up a Th and hardened cement paste (HCP) in-diffusion experiment over the end of August (18.-28.8.2025).
The Th and HCP experiment will last until the end of 2026, and will examine the in-diffusion and retention behavior of Th together with cementitious materials in the nuclear waste disposal context. Otto Fabritius and Lilia Sirén of the RIP-team will take care of running the experiment.
It will be exciting to see the results and see how Th behaves in these kinds of conditions! Thank you, Andrés, for all the help!
