The Madanat lab utilizes a combination of sequencing approaches and cancer epidemiologic population-based methodology to explore etiologies of early onset cancer as well as develop methods for early detection of cancer.
Finland has been called “the promised land of disease genetics”. Harnessing the unique Finnish population structure and registry data allows identification of families and individuals at risk of cancer. Health outcome registry data is used as a source of data on different exposures to identify risk factors for cancer.
