Anti/hero - The stories men tell themselves: Heidegger's existentialism and the intellectual roots of right wing violence
Abstract: TBA
This seminar is part of the EuroStorie Research Seminar Series "Conflicting Modernities: Counter-Narratives of Europe". The Autumn 2024 series will delve into European modernity, challenging prevalent interpretations that depicts it as a singular, linear grand narrative. Through an exploration of diverse philosophical and intellectual perspectives, the series aims to unravel the fragmented and contested character of European modernity. It prompts critical inquiry into questions such as: What are the competing narratives that define it? How does reconceptualizing modernity as a multifaceted and contested phenomenon change our understanding of European identity? By examining various temporal and geographical dimensions of European modernity, the series invites participants to engage with its diverse and often conflicting narratives.
