Value-Surveys and philosophical reflection
Here it is to be discussed what perspective a philosophical value-theory might offer dealing with value-surveys in political and social sciences (like the European Value Survey). Though I am going to refer to some of their outcomes, I shall mostly focus on the presupposed set of values and their classification. In this sense I will try to show that some values (such as religion) are classified in a too narrow way, whether other phenomena named as values (for instance family) are in fact no values at all. In the last section, it is to be discussed what demands to philosophical theory of values are entailed by acknowledging research in social sciences and other humanities.
