X-ray absorption techniques are used to study electronic structure of elements revealing information about their local coordination environment and electron structure. These studies are usually done at large synchrotron facilities but also table-top instruments are available. Ion-exchange group has been building our instrument with help of Helsinki X-ray Laboratory at Physics Department of University of Helsinki.
