First ANEE+ funding granted

The Interdisciplinary Research Network for Ancient Near East (ANEE+) offers funding for events, publications and new project proposals to its members based on applications. Proposals are reviewed monthly by the management team.

The first three ANEE+ funding decisions have now been made. Funding was granted to

  1. Preparation of and piloting fieldwork for a new project on waste management and recycling practices in early sedentary societies through a comparative perspective across the Near Eastern region
  2. Organization of an interactive workshop on the materiality of written artefacts in ancient Egypt
  3. Dissemination of the newly finished doctoral dissertation “Parallel use of Akkadian and Aramaic in Neo-Assyrian archives"
