About ANEE+

ANEE+ Interdisciplinary Research Network is an international network for researchers of Eastern Mediterranean and West Asia from prehistory to late antiquity. All researchers whose work overlaps with the goals of the ANEE+ network are welcome to apply. As a member of the ANEE+ network, you can apply funding together, develop new projects and ideas, work on joint publications and collaborations.
ANEE (2018–2025) and ANEE+

ANEE+ is a research network which fosters the existing connections and work of , creates new collaborations, and offers a collegial space for crossing disciplinary boundaries. The focus of the network is on innovative, interdisciplinary and comparative work.

Geographically, the ANEE+ network focuses on Eastern Mediterranean and Western Asia. Temporally, the scope reaches from prehistory to late antiquity. The network aims to foster ethical practices in our fields of study (). All researchers including doctoral students whose research overlaps with network goals can apply to become network members. The network members can apply for funding, develop new projects and ideas, maintain and further develop a vibrant community of researchers of West Asia and Mediterranean, both internationally and in Finland. Members of the network can keep in touch with ANEE+ Discord channel and organise events both in conferences and online.

Management and membership

ANEE+ network is managed by Saana Svärd, Antti Lahelma and Jason Silverman, with the support of network coordinator and student assistants. A small international steering committee (TBD) gives advice and supports the network. The network consists of researchers, including PhD students. 

The network is open to new members, as they keep the network alive. Everyone needs to for the network membership. Membership applications will be reviewed and decided by the management team, mainly based on research of the applicant and how much their goals overlap with the goals of the network (as outlined above). After having been accepted as a member by the management team, the name, preferred pronouns and affiliations will be added to network web page. Membership applications are reviewed continuously.
