Professor Raitio speaks to Eurooppalainen pääkaupunkiseutu ry on the topic of Hungary and rule of law backsliding
On Wednesday 16 June, Professor Raitio gave a talk to Eurooppalainen pääkaupunkiseutu ry, discussing the decline of the rule of law in Hungary in particular, and whether Finland is following on the same trajectory.
In his talk, Professor Raitio discussed first the concept of the rule of law and its centrality to the European Union's legal order, and second, the recent decline of the rule of law in Hungary, in particular from the point of view of the case law of the EU Court of Justice.
