Genomics of sex differences

Our group aims at building a better understanding of the biological underpinnings of the widespread sex differences in human health and disease. We believe these differences are partly driven by genomic components. Thereby our work focuses on the investigation of sex biases in both genetic and transcriptomic data particularly utilizing the extensively-phenotyped Finnish population cohorts. The ultimate goal of the group is to facilitate more accurate disease risk prediction, treatment, and intervention.
