The IUFRO Task Force on Forest Carbon “3S” coordinated by four research institutes, including University of Helsinki and its Forest Structure and Dynamics research group, hosted the international webinar on forest carbon and silviculture, bringing together more than 80 participants worldwide. Presentations by F. E. “Jack” Putz and Otávio C. Campoe highlighted approaches such as improved tropical forest management, reduced-impact logging, and liana cutting to increase carbon sequestration and reduce emissions.
