Our research group, Forest Structure and Dynamics, was established in 2023. We take a global approach to studying wind disturbances, successional biomass dynamics, and the optimization of wood production and carbon storage. Our focus is European when designing forest management scenarios, and national when examining old-growth forest structure, dynamics, and the silviculture of managed stands. We work with large datasets and apply a range of modeling techniques, including biomechanical ones, and conceptual frameworks.
