IUFRO, or the International Union of Forest Research Organizations, established twelve new task forces for the period 2025–2029. One of them is called Interaction and Synergy of Carbon "3S" (Sink, Storage and Substitution) in Forest Value Chains. It is led by Shuirong Wu from Chinese Academy of Forestry, and co-led by Amina Maalim from Kenya Forestry Research Institute, Xufeng Zhang from Beijing University of Technology and Markku Larjavaara.
