Since 2017, the University of Helsinki (UH) has been an affiliated partner in the 'Climate Knowledge and Innovation Community' (Climate KIC). KICs are partnerships, financed by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT), aiming at developing European innovation and entrepreneurship towards major societal challenges.
The Climate KIC is Europe’s largest public-private partnership integrating research, business and technology to transform innovative ideas into new products, services and jobs. The partners represent different sectors of society, academic, private and public partners, and by combining knowledge and promoting innovative ideas; they all focus on meeting the global challenge of climate change. The EIT Climate KIC is part of Horizon 2020.
Benefit from participating to the KIC include networking and capacity building, business collaboration, research-based innovation, international student recruitment, pedagogical activities and funding opportunities.
