The end of 2020 saw the winter North West, Social Insect meeting (IUSSI), the first held virtually. Our own PhD student Jack Beresford won the prize for the best student talk, entrancing the audience with his talk on hybrid mate choice and its consequences in European red wood ants. Congratulations, Jack!
