Our research is focused on understanding the role of genetics and environment in epigenetic processes, and how they relate to the development of common diseases and complex traits. Our projects involve well phenotyped and genotyped trait discordant and concordant twin pairs from the Finnish Twin Cohort Study. We measure intra-individual and within-pair epigenetic and phenotypic differences and stability in both early life and in early and late adulthood.
