A visitor from Peking University in China

Shuling Li is a doctoral student from Graduate School of Education of Peking University in China. Currently, she is a visiting student at Center for Research on Activity, Development and Learning (CRADLE) and DigIT research group from January of 2019 to January of 2020. She focuses on technology-mediated teaching and learning and technology-based teacher education.

This is how Shuling describes the reasons for coming to Helsinki:

"My doctoral thesis will focus on cultural-historical activity theory (CHAT), which originated from Vygotskian socio-cultural school, and teacher learning/teacher professional development. CRADLE, as the hub of academics and practitioners pursuing ground-breaking interventionist research based on CHAT, has considerably professional research group and solid research foundations of CHAT. Studying in Helsinki not only enables me to learn CHAT further, but also is a rare opportunity for me to learn from people and studies and to develop my thesis research".
