How did our group come to exist? After working as a research scientist at numerous research institutes in both Finland and Europe and at various positions in the biomedical research industry, Adj. Prof. PhD. Filip Ekholm joined the Department of Chemistry in 2015 and was promoted to a permanent position as a University lecturer in 2017. The same year he founded the Biomolecular Chemistry research group and the team currently consists of two project researchers, two doctoral students and seven undergraduate students. In addition to our main research themes, the group actively collaborates with leading experts within the areas of chemical biology and drug development.
