Bioinformatics Day 2019

Finnish Society for Bioinformatics is arranging an annual Bioinformatics day. This event gathers together people interested in or working with bioinformatics, both from universities and from companies around Finland.

  • Andres Veidenberg: Pline: JSON-based dynamic web interfaces for command-line programs

11.30 – 12.30 Lunch (at own cost) 

12.30 - 13.15 Invited talk 

  • Rayan Chikhi: Recent advances in genome assembly with either short or long reads

13:15 - 14:30 Contributed talks

  • Camille Marchet: A survey of methods representing sets of k-mer sets
  • Tommi Mäklin: Bacterial genome assembly from co-cultures using probabilistic inference

14:30 - 15:15 Coffee & Posters

15:15 - 16:00 Invited talk by Päivi Onkamo

16:00 - 17:00 Annual meeting of the society and meeting of the new board 

17:30 -> Casual get-together in the centre of Helsinki

For basic level (e.g. BSc, MSc) students : 5 euros
For others: 25 euros
