In 2018, the (CAF) inaugurated the  to honor the life and thought of philosopher, animal advocate, and CAF co-founder Tom Regan. This year, the eighth lecture will be celebrated in Helsinki, in collaboration with the Helsinki Animal Law Centre, on June 8th at 5:00 pm at Maijansali, . The lecture will be streamed.

The lecture will be delivered by Visa Kurki (Professor of Jurisprudence at the University of Helsinki). The title of his presentation is From Unnecessary Suffering to Utopia: Animal Law Between Realism and Idealism.

Angela Fernandez (University of Toronto), Silvina Pezzetta (CONICET Argentina), Eva Bernet Kempers (University of Antwerp), and Werner Scholtz (University of Southampton) will act as respondents.
