Biodiversity and Animal Law Symposium

Join us for a symposium on the challenges and synergies in biodiversity and animal law. The symposium takes place on the 9th of October 2023 at the University of Helsinki (Main Building, lecture room U3032) and online.

Co-organized by the Research Group on Rights of Nature and Animals and the Helsinki Animal Law Centre, this symposium will have experts in the fields of both biodiversity and animal law present and discuss the most important themes in these fields, with a keynote by Professor Afshin Akhtar-Khavari. The format is adapted to inspire lively discussions: with the speakers commenting on each others presentations, and more than enough time for Q&A.

Please check the preliminary programme below for the confirmed speakers and the panel descriptions.

To register, please fill in the form. As this is a hybrid event, we are asking you to indicate whether you will participate in person or online. We will send you the venue details/zoom link later.
