The program includes opening words from the Dean of Faculty of Arts, Prof. Hanna Snellman, from the Director of the Centre of Excellence in Changes in Sacred Texts and Traditions, Prof. Martti Nissinen, and from Professor of Cultural Heritage Studies, Prof. Suzie Thomas. After the opening words a short introduction to the research and activities of the new Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires will be provided.
