Internships at Finnish Scientific Diving Academy 2026

In 2026 there will be two Onni Talas internships offered at the Finnish Scientific Diving Academy to
assist in the activities related to the programs taught at that time.

Interns will participate in a range of diving operations activities, including surface support, diving for projects, handling boats and assisting in the running of the Foundations of Scientific Diving, Occupational Scientific Diver and other programs. 

The tax-free scholarship is 1600€ per month. In addition to the grant, the foundation will pay for accommodation at the station. Extra dive training courses to develop career direction(eg Divemaster) are also part of the internship. 

The Internships will begin: 

  1. April 20th 2026
  2. August 10th 2026 

The applicant requirements: 

  • Student at any level enrolled at a Finnish University
  • Qualified Scientific Diver (European Scientific Diver or Equivalent level)
  • Experienced diver in Baltic Sea conditions
  • 70+ Dives
  • Experience in small boat handling 

Applicants should note that programs run over weekend days as well and into evenings with the expectation that they will be involved at these times as well and these days will be counted towards the 3 months of work time.

  • A short Letter of Interest (1 page, in English) describing why you are interested in the internship, your goals and aspirations, and your experience and skills.
  • CV listing the courses attended, diving qualifications and provide the name and contact details to one referee.

  • Evidence of enrollment
