Involving researchers from the fields of philosophy and history, the principal aim of the project is to bring attention to parts of Georg Henrik von Wright’s philosophical career and his role as Ludwig Wittgenstein’s friend and literary executor, which hitherto have remained virtually unknown to research and a wider public. The project involves both the publishing of letters and other archival holdings, as well as research based on these.
The project has resulted in
1. Skriv så ofta du kan, a book, an ebook and a website edited by Bernt Österman, containing the correspondence between Georg Henrik von Wright and Eino Kaila 1937-1958 with an introduction and comments by Österman (available only in Swedish).
2. Om Wittgenstein, an ebook and a website edited by Lassi Jakola and Thomas Wallgren, containing von Wrights writings on Wittgenstein in Swedish. With an introduction by Wallgren and Jakola and a contextualising essay by Jakola.
3. Den okände von Wright, a book and an ebook edited by Joel Backström and Thomas Wallgren, containing a number of less known publications by von Wright in Swedish. Forthcoming 2023 at SLS.
