Ingrid Detter De Lupis

Ingrid Detter De Lupis Frankopan (née Thyra Ingrid Hildegard Detter; 1936) is a distinguished international jurist and Lindhagen Professor Emeritus of International Law. She is an expert in French, Italian, and German Law, as well as in the Law of War and the Law of International Organizations.

Ingrid Detter De Lupis Frankopan began her studies at Stockholm University, where she completed a law degree. She went on to complete two doctorates at Oxford University and Stockholm University respectively, a License de Droit at the University of Paris (today Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), and a Diploma in European Law at Turin University. 

She is fluent in many languages, namely English, French, German, Italian, Croatian, and all Scandinavian languages; she has been granted the right of audience in France, Italy, Germany,  and in Scandinavian countries. She also has working knowledge of Russian, Spanish, Portugese and Dutch. She has served as an Adviser on International Law to Pope John Paul II for twenty-five years, as Counsel in arbitrations, and as an Arbitrator herself. 

She has published sixteen books and twenty articles on Public and Private International Law, the Law of War, the Law of International Organizations, as well as numerous minor articles and book reviews.
