The Summer School on Edge AI 2025, hosted at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, successfully brought together researchers, students, and industry representatives from across the Nordic region and beyond for four days of intensive learning, collaboration, and scientific exchange from September 1–4, 2025.
Organized under the Nordic University Cooperation on Edge Intelligence (NUEI) and co-sponsored by TECoSA – Trustworthy Edge Computing Systems and Applications, the summer school focused on advancing research and innovation in Edge AI, intelligent distributed systems, and trustworthy computing infrastructures.
The event featured lectures, technical sessions, and interactive discussions covering emerging topics such as edge intelligence, distributed AI inference, trustworthy machine learning, next-generation communication systems, and AI-driven edge applications. Participants had the opportunity to engage directly with leading experts from academia and industry, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration.
Throughout the four-day program, attendees explored the challenges and opportunities associated with deploying AI at the edge, including scalability, latency, resource efficiency, security, and sustainability. The summer school also emphasized the growing importance of trustworthy and resilient infrastructures for future intelligent systems.
In addition to academic activities, the event provided valuable networking opportunities that strengthened collaboration among Nordic universities and research initiatives working in the field of edge computing and AI.
