Prof. Kristiina Patja is a MD. Ph. D, Specialist in Health care and is working as a professor in healthcare science in the University of Helsinki, Medical Faculty and chief physician at the University hospital of Helsinki. Her common thread is to increase the opportunities for citizens and professionals to learn healthier choices. She has more the 15 years of experience in epidemiology, intervention studies, implementation research and program development.
Heikki Pesonen is Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Senior University Lecturer at the Faculty of Theology, University of Helsinki. Pesonen's research focuses on religion in an era of environmental crisis and the relationship between religion and popular culture. His recent publications deal with Pentti Linkola’s apocalyptical thinking, religious environmental rituals and ecological apocalypse in popular film. Pesonen has co-edited several collections of articles and basic textbooks on religious studies.
Jaana Laisi holds a doctorate in medicine and has turned her focus to environmental and sustainability issues in order to promote the health of both humans and the rest of nature. Her core expertise lies in the intersections of health and sustainability, holistic well-being, and the role of various professionals and experts in the sustainability transition. As an educator and researcher, Jaana seeks new and innovative solutions that also support the well-being of those working on these issues in their everyday lives.
Anna Jarske-Fransas is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Helsinki Doctoral Programme in Theology and Religious Studies working on her PhD at the intersection of study of religions, sustainability and medicine in the MESSU research project. She also works as a Project Planner at the Helsinki Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities (HSSH), and is a founding member of Kudelma – cooperative for comprehensive and sustainable systemic change.
