Mariel Wuolio holds a Master's degree in social sciences and is a social psychologist. As a researcher in interaction and a doctoral candidate, she is the principal investigator of the "Interaction in Brief Therapy" study. Wuolio's previous research topics include the role of emotional expression in occupational health consultations and the ways of constructing selfhood in psychiatric assessment processes, psychotherapy, and in relation to narcissistic personality traits.

Liisa Voutilainen is a docent in sociology (University of Helsinki) and a university researcher (University of Eastern Finland). She has studied cognitive and psychodynamic psychotherapy using conversation analytic methods, focusing particularly on interactional practices related to emotions and empathy. Currently, her research is directed towards interaction in school counseling. She also supervises doctoral theses in interaction research and the sociology of emotions.
Emmi Koskinen is a lecturer in social psychology at the University of Helsinki. She earned her PhD in sociology in 2022 with a dissertation on storytelling, face-work, and affiliation in conversations between neurotypical and autistic individuals. Her current research examines individual differences and participation in social interaction, combining quasi-experimental designs with conversation analytic and discursive approaches. Koskinen also collaborates with neuroscientists, utilizing EEG and fMRI data in the study of interaction.
