How and why did deportations become a central tool of European migration policy after the Cold War? Gatekeeping of the Nation: Deportations at Finnish Borderscapes from the Cold War to Europeanisation (GATE) is the first long-term analysis of Finnish deportation policy. Funded by the Research Council of Finland 2022-2026, the project will be carried out at the University of Helsinki as part of the Centre of Excellence in Law, Identity and the European Narratives.
