Wastebake project is one of the TEKES Challenge Finland winners. Project is developing novel methods for reusing bakery waste in food industry as raw materials, or for production of added value compounds such as functional hydrocolloids, preservatives or in situ biogas for energy needs of bakeries. Project is coordinated by University of Helsinki / Grain Technology group with VTT as the other research partner.
