Helsinki Urban Rat Project has launched in January 2018 with the funding from Maj and Tor Nessling Foundation to postdoctoral researcher Tuomas Aivelo. Tuomas has now funding for two years to start the ecological and parasitological aspects of the project. The first steps will be piloting the use of track plates for rat population estimates and to start sourcing rat carcasses for parasite surveys.
