Student agents

Student agents act as promoters of innovation and entrepreneurial culture in the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry.
Interdisciplinary and community-based actions

The student task piloted in the faculty in 2023 supports interaction between students and the faculty, increases interdisciplinary nature and promotes the rooting of an innovation culture in the university community.

Four students pursuing a bachelor's degree at a time, one from each department of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, act as student agents. The agent activities are guided by two mentors who acted as agents in the previous year: Master's student in Food Science Sirja Latukka and Master's student in Environmental and Food Economics Henna Kallio.

The agents share information in their community about innovation activities organized by the university for students, such as the 15-credit Entrepreneurship and Innovations study module. In addition to communication, the agents participate in events and organize activities for students, such as the Pizza ‘n’ Beer event organized twice for students of the faculty in collaboration with Helsinki Think Company Viikki.

Student agent activities have expanded to the Faculty of Pharmacy in 2024 and the Faculty of Education in 2025.

Student agent activities are usually in Finnish.
