Explore the projects and research groups currently active within the SSH-XR Network.

The composition of the SSH-XR network is ongoing. The network launches with the following research groups/projects:

Halbwachs in the Metaverse: Storyliving and democracy in the age of immersive spatial computing, 2025–2028, PI Rūta Kazlauskaitė, funded by Kone Foundation. The project examines the impact of XR technologies on political communication and democratic governance.

ERA-VR (), 2024-2027, PI Inga Jasinskaja-Lahti, funded by Kone Foundation. Other researchers of the project are post-doc Matilde Tassinari and doctoral student Reko Elovainio. Jasinskaja-Lahti is also a leader of the ESSO research group (), which is more largely involved in studying intergroup relations in real-life and digital environments.

Interaction Analysis Lab, 2023 – , PI Ville Harjunen. Harjunen leads the project EnTiTy (Funder: SLS; duration: 2023-2026) and coordinates the Engine-project (Funder: Research Council of Finland; duration: 2024-2027) both examining computer-mediated and face-to-face communication on a micro-level. XR interaction is examined in the context of holographic communication.
