Our story

Helsinki Education Hub originally kickstarted in 2021 and was operational in Töölö throughout 2021-2023. Over that time, HEH worked with over 200 start-ups and collaborated with hundreds of teachers and learners. HEH served as a centre and meeting point, helping the EdTech community in Finland grow into a vibrant and diverse group of ambitious start-ups.

HEH will restart in August of 2024 and run until the end of 2026.  We intend to build on the foundation of the initial Helsinki Education Hub and bring a new twist of research and teaching into the community and to the activities provided. HEH will also move into a brand-new location in Kruununhaka!

The application period for the EdTech incubator program will open twice a year, during Autumn and Spring. The first application period will be opened in the Autumn of 2024. More information about this will be provided at a later time. Please note that only the applications sent through the provided application portal during the application period will be considered.

Helsinki Education Hub will be located at Siltavuorenpenger, at the heart of the Faculty of Educational Sciences. More information about the space will be published in August.

Please note that the co-working space at Runeberginkatu is permanently closed.

Operations will begin in August 2024 and the kick-off event organised in September 2024. Stay tuned for more information!

Helsinki Education Hub is run in collaboration with the University of Helsinki and the City of Helsinki. HEH is funded by the Innovation Fund of the City of Helsinki for three years – from 2024 to 2026.
