Illustrator Kissa Koskinen’s exhibition showcases watercolor and mixed-media illustrations from Kyni ja metsän vanhin, a children’s book by Reetta Niemelä. The exhibition takes visitors deep into the forest, following the young viper Kyni on its journey to hibernation. It features both book illustrations and original watercolor works.
Vipers are often misunderstood and Kyni ja metsän vanhin is unique in Finnish children’s literature for featuring one as a protagonist. Koskinen and Niemelä aim to highlight the importance of protecting even the smallest forest inhabitants.
The exhibition runs from April 8 to June 8, 2025 and is free to visit during café hours which align with the museum’s opening times.
