Photographs of the wilderness by Jetro Luhtaa

An exhibition showcasing the distinctive nature of the Käsivarsi wilderness area will be on display at the Natural History Museum from November 12, 2025, to March 15, 2026.

Jetro Luhtaa’s exhibition presents the unique natural world of the Käsivarsi wilderness area by combining the atmosphere of fantasy worlds with the realism of documentary nature photography. The photographs, captured through the lens of traditional nature photography, reveal landscapes that seem almost otherworldly as well as animal species in their natural habitats. The fantasy-like theme invites visitors to draw inspiration freely from nature and to use imagination to discover their own enchanting refuge within it.

Jetro Luhtaa is an award-winning photographer who first visited the Käsivarsi wilderness area five years ago. During a week-long trek, he was captivated by the vast fell landscapes and has since explored Käsivarsi extensively on numerous photography trips. The exhibition is composed of images taken over these five years.

The exhibition is on display at the Natural History Museum’s PopUp balcony from November 12, 2025 to March 15, 2026
