Forest’s Embrace invites visitors into the world of Helsinki’s forest animals and plants. Olga Veselovskaya’s watercolours showcase the rich diversity of the city’s woodlands and offer a moment of pause and reflection in the presence of nature.
The works are based on Veselovskaya’s interpretive illustrations created for information boards located in nature conservation areas such as Kallahdenniemi, Hallainvuori and the Siimespolku trail in Haltialanmetsä. The paintings depict forest inhabitants with scientific precision and artistic sensitivity. The exhibition highlights that valuable nature is not found only in remote wilderness areas, but also right next to the city.
Olga Veselovskaya (b. 1972) is a Master of Arts, illustrator and art educator who specializes in nature and species illustration. More information: olgavesel.com
