Direction how to arrive the Viikki Arboretum.

For your GPS : Put in Hakalantie 1, Helsinki.

By Bus

The journey from Helsinki Railway Station takes around 40 minutes by bus. Take the bus number 78 from platform 1 to the Viikin tiedepuisto stop. Walk back 50 meters to the intersection and turn left on Viikinkaari (don’t cross the street). At the end of Viikinkaari you’ll be facing the Arboretum on the other side of the fields. Walk across the fields and you will reach the northwest corner of the Arboretum.

By Car

From the north

From Ring road I (Seppämestarintie, route 101) take the exit: Malmi / Viikki / Pihlajamäki. Turn south to Pihlajamäentie. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Viikintie. At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto Koetilantie and then turn right to Hakalantie.

From the city center

Drive along Mannerheimintie and turn right to Helsinginkatu. Continue along Helsinginkatu for 1,0 km and turn left to Sturenkatu. After 1,7 km turn left to Hämeentie and continue along Kustaa Vaasan tie (E75). Take exit 2: Viikki / Pihlajamäki. Turn right to Pihlajamäentie. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Viikintie. At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto Koetilantie and then turn right at Hakalantie.

Parking

There is very limited parking along Hakalantie. The grounds are closed to motor vehicle traffic except service traffic.

Walking and cycling

There are several bicycling and walking routes leading to Viikki Arboretum.

Bike racks/stands are available nearby the bird-watching towers. Do not attach, lock or lean bikes on trees or structures.

Cross-country skiing

In wintertime the Viikki arboretum trails are prepared for cross-country skiing. All trails are considered multiple use, so walkers may be encountered at any time.
