Telemetric EEG

This unit is dedicated for long-term EEG and circadian rhythm recordings that are mandatory in sleep and circadian research. In addition, EEG recordings are carried out to study brain-wide activity of large populations of neurons, for example in epilepsy research. The unit consists of three electrically isolated recording rooms with a possibility to manipulate the light-dark conditions, and a central room for handling of animals. The recordings can be combined with behavioral and physiological analysis, pharmacological and genetic manipulation as well as electrical and optogenetic stimulation.
EEG telemetry

Two electrically isolated research rooms with wireless EEG recording 8 mice in each. Consists of two telemetry collection and analysis units, softwares for 8 + 8 mice, cables with collection units.

Equipment:

Unit provides 19 PhysioTel™ HD-X02 telemetry implants with two biopotential channels (typically EEG and EMG) for example for sleep scoring and seizure detection.

Other equipment:

  • Four Sleep fragmentation gages
  • Surgery hoods, equipped with stereotaxic frame (mouse), and inhalation anaesthesia
  • Frige

Spike2 software is used for EEG rocordings and sleep scoring.

Location: Biomedicum 1

Additional info/Comments: The system can be used by clients only after hands-on training. For succesful surgeries we recommend to take DSI´s surgery training. For learning sleep scoring, collaboration with our experienced sleep recearchers is possible.
