eLTER on the new ESFRI 2018 roadmap

On September 11th, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) presented the 2018 ESFRI Roadmap on Large Scale Research Infrastructures during a half-day conference in Vienna. The ESFRI Roadmap identifies new Research Infrastructures (RI) of pan-European priority and, as announced previously, eLTER RI is among them. These new research infrastructures will be designed to meet the long term needs of European research communities.

Changing ecosystems - Opportunities and challenges in integrated research

The first INAR RI Ecosystems Scientific meeting at Oulanka Research station 20.-22.8.2018.

Changing ecosystems - Opportunities and challenges in integrated research conference brings together ecosystems researchers in Finland and gives an update of ongoing environmental studies. The conference will cover research on different ecosystems, across scales and scientific disciplines. Both experimental and observational approaches are included and appreciated. One additional aim of the conference is to promote communication and community building of the Finnish ecosystem research, an important part of integrated infrastructure development both nationally and internationally.

A Specific ILTER issue published in STOTEN

A virtual Specific issue (VSI) on International Long-Term Ecological Research (ILTER) network published in STOTEN. It provides striking examples from local, regional and global long-term ecosystem research on how different ecosystems respond to natural and anthropogenic changes. In addition, it summarizes the development of ILTER in the past 25 years and outlines the future strategy of the network.

AnaEE 4th Assembly of Members in Brussels, in June 2018

This assembly, hold in the facilities of the Occitanie Region in Brussels, was dedicated in particular to the Director General recruitment procedure, the further writing of the future ERIC status and the planned development of the AnaEE Service Centers in Copenhaguen, Brno and Bologna.
