Neuroscience Center (NC) has recently recruited a new group leader from over 100 high quality applicants. The recruitment for group leader positions started last summer and the final appointment were approved by the HiLIFE Board on 12 December, 2024.
"We are excited to welcoming Andres Canales-Johnson as a new group leader to the Neuroscience Center", says NC Director Satu Palva. "His outstanding inter-disciplinary research across species is valuable for our strategic goals to strengthen translational research and opens up new collaborative join research opportunities."
Andres Canales-Johnson received his PhD in 2017 from the University of Cambridge and did his postdoctoral studies at the University of Amsterdam. He also holds an Affiliated Lecturer position at Cambridge University. He has an impressive publication record of 40+ papers, many of them in excellent journals. Canales-Johnson’s research program aligns closely with NC’s existing strengths in human neuroscience and systems neuroscience across species, and therefore strengthens, enriches, and complements the current research at the Neuroscience Center.
