Drawing evenings (croquis and life drawing)
Wednesdays between 17.00 and 19.30.
The open drawing evenings at the Art Room welcome both beginners and more experienced artists. Each evening course can accommodate 10 participants. The drawing evenings can be enjoyed as individual sessions or a series. You can participate in all the evenings or as many or few as you like. No previous experience in life drawing is necessary. Life drawing and croquis evenings will be held on alternating weeks.
For the croquis evenings, you will need your own drawing pad or sketchbook, preferably size A3. For life drawing, sketching paper will be provided. You can borrow drawing supplies from the Art Room or bring your own.
The participation fee is €12/€8. Registration is binding. The participation fee will not be reimbursed, but if you fall ill, you can request that your participation be transferred to another Wednesday session. The reduced price is applied to students, pensioners and unemployed people as well as military and non-military service persons and professional artists.
NB! For information on cancellation places for the evening drawing class, please contact the drawing master one hour before the class begins, at 16.00–16:30 each Wednesday: +358 (0) 44 448 8766 / firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are offered a place, please pay the fee at the University Museum’s information desk (address: Fabianinkatu 33, 3rd floor, open Wed 12.00–17.00) before the evening class begins.
If there is room in the classes you can also register and pay the participation fee at the info desk of the University Museum during its opening times, Mon–Thu 12.00–17.00, Fabianinkatu 33, 3rd floor.
Croquis at the Art Room
Croquis is a full-body sketch of a model drawn in a short amount of time. This autumn’s croquis evenings at the Art Room provide a comprehensive overview of the different aspects of croquis drawing. Croquis, like all forms of life drawing, becomes even more rewarding with practice!
Life drawing at the Art Room
Life drawing at the Art Room focuses on classical drawing of a live model. The model does not change positions as in a croquis session. Instead, we will be drawing one pose over several 20-minute periods. The basics of observational drawing will be covered during the life drawing evenings. Life drawing is a fascinating, suitably challenging way for artists of all skill levels to practice their hand-eye coordination!
Course dates and registration: 1 September at 10.00 o'clock.
